mister rhys is sucha big boy!

most people can't believe he's only 18 months! i usually get asked if he's 2 [or older!]

he talks so much and pretty well. [i suppose that's what happens when you have an older brother who talks ALL.DAY.LONG!]

sleep:

he still takes a 2-3 hour nap each day. usually 12-2:30ish

goes to bed around 8-8:30 and will usually sleep until 8 the next morning unless it's a school morning for kullen in which case, i have to wake him up at 7!

and he DOES NOT like to cuddle before bed or be in my bed at all.

his crib is his place.

he is a MAMAS BOY. 

don't get me wrong, he loves his dada but i think we're going through separation anxiety because he cries for me anytime i leave the room :/

he loves to cuddle on the couch - but only when he's tired!

we're experiencing some major tantrums these days.

watch out world if mister doesn't get his way, that's all i'm gonna say.

sometimes we just have to walk away from him. 

but for the most part ... he's a happy kid.

the other night he was sitting on my lap and we had a conversation that went like this:

rhys: watch dora?

me: no dora

rhys: watch caillou?

me: no caillou

rhys: watch chica?

me: no chica

rhys: watch mickey mouse?

me: no mickey mouse

rhys: watch chuggington?

me: no chuggington

rhys: watch thomas?

me: no thomas

rhy: watch dinosaur?

me: no dinosaur train

HAHAHA. i was laughing so hard. i finally gave in and we watched mickey mouse.

but it cracked me up that he went through all his favorite shows!

& it surprised me that he knew that many. HAHA!

rhys - 15 months

23lbs and 8 oz [50%]

33 inches long [97%]

& he got shots today and didn't even cry ... not even a whimper.

i have so much more to post on my little man ... but i'm being beckoned to cuddle! ;)

rhys - one year.

i can't believe it's been a year. i know that every parents says that it goes quick - but it REALLY seemed to go quick. it seemed like you did everything early and i didn't have my little baby sooner than most. :(

BUT - despite, you are SO much fun, kid. you are typically a very happy baby and your big smile is quite infectious. you love playing, especially with your big brother. and as of lately, you two are playing so well together. 

you are not only walking but RUNNING. you love to take off running when i come to get you!

and, you are definitely devilish! ;) you know that you aren't supposed to put things [other than food] in your mouth ... you especially know that crayons, paper and wheels [to brothers cars] are off limits. so, if/when you find one ... you will hold it out in your hand and walk to me .... and then put it in your mouth and smile. as soon as i head to get you ... you squeal and take off running. it's very comical but mama always wins ;)

i did a mini update HERE with all the words you say ... because i didn't want to forget them. it seems like you are almost saying everything. kullen loves to tell you to say something [a thousand times] and hear you repeat it. 
within the last few days you've said 'apple juice' and 'kullen'. 

most of your stats and currents are on that previous update so this one will be short and sweet.

you are such a joy, kid. you are still sleeping like a champ but the doctor said because you're SO tall - that explains all the sleeping. i am enjoying the 2hrs a day that you and i get to spend together while brother is at school ;) 
i think you love having the house to yourself as well!

rhys - ten & eleven months!

so, with everything going on - rhys'  ten month both totally got left in the dust. :( 
i did take hims pictures but even those were late. instead of posting two 'growing up' posts back to back, i figured i'd lump them together. 

between 9-10 months, not much changed. that big ole front tooth continued to grow and took over your mouth ;) 
since that tooth was so big, and your iron was low at your 9 month appointment - we  began to feed you EVERYTHING. i basically cut out your baby food at this point and let you eat our food. you LOVED it. 

you also continued to cruise around the couches and pull yourself up on everything!

sleep and napping stayed the same - as long as you have your crib, you're good!

you are professionally saying 'mama' and 'dada'
and also, somehow, learned to drink from a straw. [something brother didn't do until well after he was one!]

you're personality is really starting to come out and you love to laugh and play. you are the cutest little man and believe me when i say that my heart can't smile enough when you're around.

BUT 10-11 months was a huge milestone for you!
[also - a personal appearance change, too! we cut that hair ... and i mean, really cut it short!!!]

you started walking! just out of no where. as you'd cruise around the furniture - you'd begin to let go and take a step or two and fall. then one day, it was like 5 steps. then within like two days, we could put you down and you'd take off around the house. incredible! it was so weird for us to see such a small thing walking! brother didn't walk until after his first birthday so we weren't ready! 

other big things:
you are saying: 'mama', 'dada', 'nigh-night', 'more, 'all-done', & 'no-no'.
*you also know the signs for 'more' and 'all-done'.
you are waving to everyone/everything!

you've also began repeating things! 

your favorite is 'no no noooooo' because i will always say that to you if you're into something that you shouldn't be. and you say it so cute and sweet [kind of how i think i say it to you, hehe]

you will also repeat brother when he says things. of course, you more pronounce the sound versus words but it's still so cute!

you're also sleeping through the night! you rarely take a bottle before bed these days. instead you'll eat dinner with us - which you out eat us all! after dinner, you'll get a bath and then play for about an hour with brother. then we kiss you goodnight and put you in your crib. sometimes you'll fuss or talk to yourself before falling asleep but mostly you go right down. on occasion, you'll wake up during the night and cry a bit but i usually let you go back to sleep without me going in your room. you'll wake up between 5-7am and i'll make you a bottle and go in your room to give it to you. i usually just hand it to you and leave and you'll drink some and go back to sleep. 

[disclaimer: i never did this with kullen. i know a lot of people will tell you not to do this because it will rot their teeth or something weird like that ... but i honestly don't see the difference in me sitting in the rocker feeding him and then laying him back down immediately after or just letting him do it himself.]

you also loving playing cars with brother [although he doesn't always feel the same!]. you've started moving the cars around on the floor in a back and forth motion and i just love it. you're definitely a little boy! :)

you're so much fun these days ... we all love chasing after you and getting you to try and repeat things we say! kullen really enjoys that part of being a big brother! ;)

 also, dude. when you ask me 'how come there are more pictures of kullen as a baby than me' ... i am going to have to tell you that you are the hardest kid in the world to get pictures of. you are ALWAYS in motion and try to run from me. needless to say, these pictures are the ONLY non-blurry ones that i got during our shoot! ;)

rhys - 9 month

***OMG blogger! i scheduled this to post and JUST realized that it didn't. ugh***


mister rhys. 9 months. holy! you're so far from being my little newborn and so close to being a big one year old. it kills me!

you have 3 teeth now! you got your top (3rd) right right around your 9 month 'bday'! 

you weigh 21lbs and are 30 inches long. 

you are pulling up on EVERYTHING and standing for long periods of time. you most often want to be down roaming around wherever you can but still like being held when you're cranky or fussy.

you are sleeping great most nights. you still go to bed between 7-7:30. you sleep most of the night - if you wake up, it's usually only for your pacifier and most of the time you can find it on your own now. 
you wake between 5-6 to eat but then go back to sleep until brother wakes up around 8:00.
you take a long 2-3hr nap during the day and if we aren't home, in your crib - it's not good. you sleep best when you're in the comfort of your crib (or a car ride) but anywhere else - it's fight. 

you're wearing mostly 12month clothing but some 18month that used to be kullens! 

you love to play and dance with everyone [especially brother] and you have become very tolerant of brothers rough play! :) although, can't wait until your a little older so you can give it right back to him!
you are such a fun, sweet boy! mama loves you! <3

rhys - eight months

well dude, you're happy to be 8 months! ;)

it's weird saying that because i feel like this post is going to be short because everything is still mostly the same from last month, but you just SEEM so much bigger now.

well, one or two big thangs did happen this month! ;)
for starters - you're a crawler!! it's the cutest little crawl ever. one leg is in the normal crawler position and the other, well, it just isn't. so you kind of hobble-crawl, but regardless dude, you get places!

you also got your first tooth on your 8 month birthday! finaaaaalllllyyyy, right?! those suckers were getting so big and swollen, i knew it would happen this month. 

onto the stats - 
height/weight: unsure. i'd say bigger than last month in length, probably the same or less in weight? we don't go back to the doctor until 9 months so i won't know for sure until then!

clothing: dude, for reals. 9 months just don't do it. i pulled out kullens clothes from last summer  and they fit, great! they're mostly 18 months. i mean, it works great because i don't have to buy anything for this summer but sheesh - you're going to be wearing your dads clothes by kindergarten if you keep this up!

diapers: we're still doing CD and doing great. i am mainly putting you in disposables overnight because i don't have to worry about leakage and we had them [leftover] but we're about to run out so i'm going to have to figure something out here! 

food: you have about five bottles a day i would say, which is probably about normal. you're eating breakfast, lunch and dinner. for breakfast you have a bottle, of course, and then oatmeal and a fruit or yogurt. lunch is usually sweet potatoes. and dinner is another veggie with rice cereal and sometimes MAMA AND DADA'S food! ;)  you love to snack on yogurt puffs or just regular puffs. and you're favorite is probably pieces of fresh banana or avocado! anything you can pick up and put your mouth yourself is a winner!

sleep: moving straight on from food - you take a morning nap, usually around 9am. it only lasts about half hour - hour at the longest. then around 11ish, you begin to get sleep again. you'll sleep for two hours or longer as long as you're in your crib! then you're up until bed time - which is usually around 7:30. if we aren't home though, you don't want to sleep which makes for a very grumpy rhys! 

aside from getting a tooth and crawling - not much has changed from last month. you're still fun and love to get wet, slobbery kisses. you love to sit on the floor and play with brother. and you love to be in your walker! 

everyone thinks you look like mama, kid ;) so hearing how cute you are is not only a compliment to you - but me too, dude ;) haha! everyone loves you and i look forward to the next month and all the things you're crawlin' little butt is going to get into!
