As Miguel from Disney Pixar’s Coco crosses the Marigold Bridge, he finds himself in the magnificent spirit realm painted with vibrant color, with skeletons atop sway poles oscillating back and forth over the audience in this culturally rich, heritage celebration. Through video projection, Arendelle builds from the ground up, and ice harvesters from Disney’s Frozen use extreme skating to launch themselves from the mountainous, wintry slopes delivering an athletically-driven performance as they chop their way through blocks of ice. The iconic chandelier seen in “Be Our Guest” comes to life as Belle and the enchanted objects from Beauty and the Beast become a rotating carousel using aerial silks and lift upward into the air, mesmerizing onlookers seated above and below.

Disney on Ice: Dream Big [review]

I had been looking forward to this show for a while. Bear didn't make the last show we went too because he was sick and in the years prior, he was too young to even understand. This time, I knew he'd be excited mainly because he LOVES Frozen! Much to my surprise, he found the flier in the car and began to point out "Ariel" and even "Cinderella".

At the show, Bear kept asking who it was and the boys were quick to let him know! He, of course, kept asking when Olaf was coming but was completely entertained with all of the show despite not knowing the back story of them. (I KNOW, I KNOW - worst mother not exposing my boys to all the Disney movies from birth -- believe me, that's gonna change!)

I was pretty excited to see the characters from Aladdin! Even Genie made an appeareance!

and Ms. Snow White and her Dwarfs too! I was so surprised to hear Kullen and Rhys singing along to "Hi Ho, Hi Ho!" ... I don't really think they've ever seen the movie! 

One of my favorites - Belle. I love all the songs she sing, how she falls in love with someone for their inside and of course Ms. Potts and Lumiere! The boys hadn't seen this one so I was quick to order it off Amazon so we could watch together ... before we see the new (non cartoon) one!!!

and the wonderful closer: Frozen! :) The best part was not only hearing MY kids sing along with every song but every other kid and parent in front and behind us singing their hearts out! I mean, even Adam was laughing and singing along! Disney on Ice truly knows how to put on a show! I suggest you find a show nearby you and get tickets ASAP! Especially if you have little ones who love singing and dancing like I do!

DIsney on Ice presents Follow your Heart [review]

I have been so excited to blog about this! I have been to my fair share of Disney on Ice shows but this one was BY FAR my favorite, and do you want to know why ... it took my back to my childhood, which is something I love sharing with my kids. It was awesome singing along with the songs from my childhood and having my kids stare in awe of me knowing them! But, lets start from the beginning!

I want to give a big THANK YOU to Feld Entertainment for inviting me and my family to the pre-show! On top of feeding us, allowing us to mingle with fellow bloggers and giving us fun photo ops - we got to meet Mickey and Minnie themselves! I was a little nervous with Bear [he sometimes always is afraid of people in costumes] but he ran right up to them and posed for pictures!

Once we got to our seats, the kids kept asking what would be first. We played a fun guessing game of what we would see during this show. [HINT: if you read my post with the trivia questions; it tells you what you're going to see throughout the show!]
The theme of the show was "follow your heart" which really could ring true for MOST Disney stories. However; what made this so special for me is that they created a story using a new Disney movie [Inside Out] and all the old classic movies from my childhood [The Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast, Cinderella, Snow White, etc ...]. 
Of course - Mickey and the gang kicked things off and got all the kids hyped and ready for the show!

The cast of Inside Out went through all the different emotions by using a different [older] Disney story to relate to each one. THIS WAS MY FAVORITE!

Halfway through the show was a 20 minute intermission - which means, bathroom break when you have children! :) Once we got back to our seats - we knew that we hadn't seen the characters from Finding Dory or Frozen! My kids were especially waiting for those two! They hoped they'd see Hank the Octopus and let me tell you, he DID NOT disappoint! :)

They ended the show with Frozen, which I think was perfect. Most kids are still Frozen Obsessed so it's a perfectly good ending for them! It was a GREAT show! :)

Disney on Ice: Worlds of Fantasy [review]

Last week - before this CRAZY weather - we got the chance to attend Disney on Ice: Worlds of Fantasy at the Verizon Center. It was just me and my biggest boys since it was a late show, but we seriously had a great time!

First off - any show 'hosted' by Mickey and Minnie Mouse will never disappoint! My kids love the due just as much as me! I was anxious to see what the night held as the only real thing that I knew was Buzz & Woody would be there! 

After our hosts vehicle was having difficulties - who else would come to the Rescue?? The cast of Disneys Cars! Tow-Mater is one of the boys favorites! 

Up next, Disney's Little Mermaid cast came out. Kullen was very excited about seeing Flounder!

Me?? oh, just singing along to all my favorite Little Mermaid songs. ::flashback to my childhood!::

The later half of the show was all Toy Story 3. This totally excited my boys because it has been one of their favorite movies since it came out (we actually had a Toy Story birthday one year!). The boys were excited that they could predict what was happening and knew all the characters. They couldn't take their eyes off the show!

when the "daycare kids" came out, my boys were in hysterics. they loved all the "silly" faces!

Barbie & Ken were my favorite acts. They were so precise with their arm/hand movements and really seemed plastic-like! Ken even had some fake plastic-like hair! Watching Ken pick up Barbie and skate was so cool!

We had an absolute BLAST at this show, it was definitely one of the boys favorite!

DIsney on Ice: Frozen [a review]

My boys were so stoked to attend Frozen on Ice last week. It was all they talked about for days. I even got kullen to be extra well behaved by reminding him we planned on going! So, day of, my little poags were all Frozen! They requested to hear songs from the movie on the car ride there, which even Mr. Poag obliged ;)

Once seated, they both chatted about the characters they saw and what they thought would happen next (based on their movie knowledge!)
I thought the show was REALLY cute. They took the main parts from the movie and condensed into two hour long performances. My boys REALLY liked the sparks that flew when Elsa did her Ice Magic. I liked when she transformed into the Ice Queen because I knew what was coming next: the chance for my to belt out my best version of "Let it Go"! and boy, oh boy, did I!

Another favorite was Sven (the super huge reindeer!).

Mr. Rhys will tell you his favorite part was the big snow monster that came out near the end, but, I'll be that mom and let everyone know - he was actually a tad frightened. It didn't take long for him to get over it and move on though!

Ana was definitely my favorite. I loved how they implemented all her quirks from the movie to her character on the ice. It was a really great show! 

Another super fun highlight was more Disney on Ice characters coming out at the end - SO don't rush from your seats, sit down and stay a while! So many people missed out on the last bit because they rushed from their seats!
We saw Nemo, Dory, Buzz Lightyear, Woody, Cinderella, Prince Charming, Ariel, Prince Eric, Goofy, Donald Duck and of course Mickey and Minnie Mouse!
