Disney on Ice: Dream Big [review]

I had been looking forward to this show for a while. Bear didn't make the last show we went too because he was sick and in the years prior, he was too young to even understand. This time, I knew he'd be excited mainly because he LOVES Frozen! Much to my surprise, he found the flier in the car and began to point out "Ariel" and even "Cinderella".

At the show, Bear kept asking who it was and the boys were quick to let him know! He, of course, kept asking when Olaf was coming but was completely entertained with all of the show despite not knowing the back story of them. (I KNOW, I KNOW - worst mother not exposing my boys to all the Disney movies from birth -- believe me, that's gonna change!)

I was pretty excited to see the characters from Aladdin! Even Genie made an appeareance!

and Ms. Snow White and her Dwarfs too! I was so surprised to hear Kullen and Rhys singing along to "Hi Ho, Hi Ho!" ... I don't really think they've ever seen the movie! 

One of my favorites - Belle. I love all the songs she sing, how she falls in love with someone for their inside and of course Ms. Potts and Lumiere! The boys hadn't seen this one so I was quick to order it off Amazon so we could watch together ... before we see the new (non cartoon) one!!!

and the wonderful closer: Frozen! :) The best part was not only hearing MY kids sing along with every song but every other kid and parent in front and behind us singing their hearts out! I mean, even Adam was laughing and singing along! Disney on Ice truly knows how to put on a show! I suggest you find a show nearby you and get tickets ASAP! Especially if you have little ones who love singing and dancing like I do!

Monster Jam [review]

I spy two little boys that LOVE trucks .. especially Monster Trucks!

It was so much fun. If you're a parent of boys, I would highly recommend taking them! They will be on the edge of their seat the entire time - but definitely remember to bring earplugs or headphones if you have little ones! they do sell them there but they'll cost you $20.00!!! 

zombie was the boys favorite truck, for obvious reasons! #zombiefamily ;)

the boys also loved watching the trucks fall over. only a few did, including Grave Digger but they were so into the trucks falling and getting pulled back up! 

There is tons of swag there available for purchase as well. If you hang out after the show, you'll have a chance to get autographs from the drivers which is really neat!

Performing at the Verizon Center from February 15 – 20, audiences will be transported to a world where imaginations soar and anything can happen. Through enchanted pixie-dust, Tinker Bell takes audiences on a journey of beloved Disney tales. Make a splash with the fearless dreamer Ariel as she yearns to explore life above the waves. DIsney on Ice presents Follow your Heart [review]

I have been so excited to blog about this! I have been to my fair share of Disney on Ice shows but this one was BY FAR my favorite, and do you want to know why ... it took my back to my childhood, which is something I love sharing with my kids. It was awesome singing along with the songs from my childhood and having my kids stare in awe of me knowing them! But, lets start from the beginning!

I want to give a big THANK YOU to Feld Entertainment for inviting me and my family to the pre-show! On top of feeding us, allowing us to mingle with fellow bloggers and giving us fun photo ops - we got to meet Mickey and Minnie themselves! I was a little nervous with Bear [he sometimes always is afraid of people in costumes] but he ran right up to them and posed for pictures!

Once we got to our seats, the kids kept asking what would be first. We played a fun guessing game of what we would see during this show. [HINT: if you read my post with the trivia questions; it tells you what you're going to see throughout the show!]
The theme of the show was "follow your heart" which really could ring true for MOST Disney stories. However; what made this so special for me is that they created a story using a new Disney movie [Inside Out] and all the old classic movies from my childhood [The Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast, Cinderella, Snow White, etc ...]. 
Of course - Mickey and the gang kicked things off and got all the kids hyped and ready for the show!

The cast of Inside Out went through all the different emotions by using a different [older] Disney story to relate to each one. THIS WAS MY FAVORITE!

Halfway through the show was a 20 minute intermission - which means, bathroom break when you have children! :) Once we got back to our seats - we knew that we hadn't seen the characters from Finding Dory or Frozen! My kids were especially waiting for those two! They hoped they'd see Hank the Octopus and let me tell you, he DID NOT disappoint! :)

They ended the show with Frozen, which I think was perfect. Most kids are still Frozen Obsessed so it's a perfectly good ending for them! It was a GREAT show! :)

Ringling Brothers and Barnum & Bailey - review!

Did you make it to the circus this weekend? I am so grateful that we got to attend OPENING NIGHT! It was just amazing! I was worried that the boys wouldn't love it as much after last years amazing show, but I was proved wrong. They thoroughly loved the show and everything about it. Kullen was slightly disappointed that there wasn't dirt bikes this year but he loved the acrobats jumping on trampolines and through windows in sync.

I know some people are skeptical of the circus and the relationship with Elephants but let me just tell you, this was one of the greatest elephant shows that I have seen. They paid such tribute and honor to them as it is their last "go round" with the circus. It was such a privilege to see them up close and personal this one last time. Me and my children will always have that great memory of the circus elephants! 

and also, can we talk about the Pre-Media event! WOW! RBBB and Feld really out did themselves. They wined and dined us, hooked the kids up with face-paintings, sweets and treasures to take home! It was truly THE BEST!

This was the first year that I remember seeing Camels and they were so neat! The boys LOVED that part! 

The balancing acts always give me a little scare but never disappoint! They definitely know what they're doing!

And of course, my favorite - THE TIGERS! Something about their sassiness and the way the trainer speaks - I just love it all. I always think "this is it, this tiger is going to go nuts!" but they never do. They are definitely well trained and loved by all!
