rhys 3rd birthday inspiration

my middle baby is going to turn three next month - ah! 

the only thing i've gotten accomplished: invites created. [not printed or mailed!]

cute, huh!? i'm pretty proud.

as for the other details, here's what i'm planning:

cake pops - i know rhys' grandma can easily nail these!!!

don't know if i'll bag them like this - but definitely veggie sticks! 

thinking i'll do something like this for a 'cake'. seems to be the easiest option!

and maybe something like this for favors:

now ... just have to get going on all this! ;)

it just dawned on me that i never posted kullen's party details/pictures!

i didn't get many pictures due to the craziness and running around

and if it weren't for mandee

i would probably have ZERO pictures of the decor/table!

i learned a valuable lesson this year

START EARLIER!!

next year (and for rhys') i plan to be completely finished at least two days before

that way i can totally enjoy myself the day of

and take TONS of pictures!

i think the yo gabba gabba theme was a huge success

i know kullen loved it :)


his awesome invites! :)

and some details & food!

we had chick fila food trays

as well as rainbow fruit kabobs, strawberry cheeseball [tastefully simple], chocolate covered pretzels, cupcakes, swirly lollipop cookies,  and pasta salad to name a few!

it's cake time!!! :)

the cake was made from a local friend of a friend 

and i couldn't have been more pleased with it!

& typical 'i'm over it' picture! :)

... and a very sleepy birthday boy! :)

we forgot to photograph so many things!

like the banner that i spent hours designing and printing

and that mandee and my mom hung for me, last minute!

and there were so many things that did NOT get accomplished

because i'm a procrastinator 

and didn't want to start to early! HA! [lesson learned!]

i intended on making kullen a brobee shirt - didn't get done.

we made labels for food that didn't get put on the table.

'thanks for coming' labels to put on the bubbles [in the favor bag]

among others!

all in all - it was a great party and i can't wait to do it again .... next year!

a second birthday?

seriously. already? UGH. 

kullen's first birthday was ALL me - since he wasn't old enough to officially be 'into' anything yet!

we, of course, went with the 'rock star' theme. 

i debated doing something similar again this year but decided against it.

he is a whole YEAR older and definitely has his interests.

after contemplating those [which include: elmo, cars/trucks/buses, Capitals, dogs, yo gabba gabba and/or monkeys] i decided to go with yo gabba gabba!

i don't want to just order all the cheesy crap from the party site; i want it to be creative and his own! 
& i'm not wasting money on themed plates, cups, napkins again! i'll just do plain colors that coordinate with my decor because let's face it - who gives a hoot about plates!

i shamelessly stole all these from etsy and plan on purchasing some and of course some DIY. [like the banner, come on - i can do that, right!]

i'm also contemplating purchasing the silhouette SD machine, finally. 

this will help me on the DIY stuff!

as i mentioned in a previous post, the hub's fantastic birthday present was a brooks laich jersey and almost front row tickets to a CAPS game the day after his actual birthday! he was thrilled and so were we (that he loved our gifts)! we got to verizon center early and walked a few steps down so we could see the warm ups and take some pictures!

the great 8 - oviiiiii :D

we went from being up 2 to being tied 2-2 at the end of the third. we went into overtime and remained tied so it went to a shoot out. unfortunately, the canadiens got the single goal making them the game winners. overall, it was a great game and we had AMAZING seats!

and kullen helping hims daddy blow out his birthday candle on his [homemade] birthday cheesecake!
